Activision Threatens to Pull PSN Support

UPDATE 1/19/11: Treyarch has responded, in which I firmly disagree with their assessment. Their response and my reaction to it can be found on More Troubles Headed Towards Activision

I (like the majority of Call of Duty Black Op's PS3 gamers) have been experiencing a huge number of connection problems for the past 3 month of release of this game. I've been in dialog with Activision with respect to the problems associated with this game, and following the call of duty forums (PS3 forums are filled to the max daily on complaints with connection problems with the multi-player of this game). I've posed some questions with respect to what Activision and Treyarch are going to do to keep the loyalty of the PS3 gamers to the Call of Duty titles due to the consistent problems PS3 users have been having and reporting to Treyarch since release. Activision offered the following and startling response:

Well I have nothing else to offer and I too follow forums and have many friends who play and enjoy the game for all of its features. As an avid gamer, I would also disagree with any legalities involving a single aspect of a game as online experience may change at any time. The publishers have the right to shut down the servers for their game at any time as well which based on the number of reported posts from users may be a viable solution over the free PSN.

In any event, if you would like to send your game disc into us, we can either;

a) Exchange for a sealed (unopened) copy of the game that you can take back to the retailer
b) Swap for another platform
c) Exchange for another Activision title of equal or lesser value.

These are the options that we are able to offer to you as a one time courtesy.

Let us know how you would like to proceed.

Maybe I should send in my copy towards a360 version
I tried to play mw2 last night, cheaters in every room
one map I was stuck spectating a cheater, a list of his cheats came up, fake rooms, aimbot walhack
you could see all the enemies on his screen with red squares around them, he started to talk smack to all of us spectaters and froze all our ps3's.
i'm ready to snap my prestige edtion mw2 in half

O.O Maybe I should send them my Black Ops copy to them so I can get a sealed copy and get a full refund. Then again it would probably cost me $20 dollars shipping. Activision is an awful publisher. They are nothing but money whores.

Its a damn shame that there are so many people out there that glitch and hack games and ruin the fun for millions of people.

I've never turned in any games to retailers because I like having the option to go back and play a game again once its past its peak. I could totally play the entire campaigns of COD 4, MW2, or even Black Ops again after going months or even a year having not touched them. I would be sad to see the online aspects of the games go.....but they're just about dead anyway with all the hacks and/or server issues (black ops since day 1).

Hell, I might even go back this week and play some COD4 campaign. The variety of mission types each game offers is always what kept me hooked. And those Co-op missions in MW2? I hope they dont pull the plug on those too cause I could hook up with a friend for fun and do some snow-mobile races or ghillie-sniper missions again.

I used to be a big Guitar Hero fan, it's amazing how well they destroyed that series, all so they could get out as many games out as quickly as possible. They released three guitar hero games in one year, I mean that's a lot of stress on a developer, no wonder the IW guys got the hell out of there.

Haha, yea i was there too. But i knew better, it was the company Harmonix that you should be following. They did GH1, 2, & 80s before moving onto Rock Band.

Harmonix was the beginning of all these music games. They're the people to trust for good quality music games.
