Socom is the Best because.

I think what makes Socom the best, IMO, is the fact that ANY GEEK OFF THE STREET cant just pick it up and start Pwning.

Socom takes practice, and true skill to become great. You have to LEARN the game!

COD... My 6 year old son can pick up a DS3 and Start Pwning people on his first try.

Thats the problem with all these other shooters. These companies DUMMY them down to the point that a blind man with 3 fingers and a modified 'Bite-Activated' Trigger, can start playing and winning.

You give SO:Con or any of its predecessors, to someone that has NEVER played SOCOM.... and they will get PWNED and GET PWNED OFTEN. Come back in a month, and they are lucky to go 5 and 8 on Frost Fire.

Come back in a year... and they get MVP once out of every 35 Games or so.

SOCOM is Great because true skills, and instinct are needed to play and play well.

Zipper, Dont dummy this game down for the kiddos, this is IMO the only game left for us old farts.

I completely agree with this. My buddy plays Hawx and has been bugging the hell out of me to try it for months, so I spend 30 bucks on it and get owned, motiion sick, laughed at and crash into everything. I totally suck Monkey nads at this game, I even tried to play it for a week straight and got a little better but still made an asss of myself, all he did was laugh and text me thru out the whole failed attempt to play Hawx.

Well it was his turn to play Socom, he bragged about being a gamer, playing WarHawk and some COD, etc, etc. He bought the game used for 15 bucks and I spent 30 on Hawx, I feel ripped off again, lol. First off he was aggrevated before even playing, all the downloads and he had a hard time figuring out the lobby system including choosing load outs. He finally found me and of all maps to start off on Socom "Frostfire" full ranked room and he had God knows what load out. He got naded with in 6 seconds, shot in the face, knifed in the head, you name it. He lasted maybe 5 rounds, turned the game off and text me stating that's why it cost 15 dollars and he shouldn't have to learn a stupid game he paid only15 dollars for anyways, he said not worth it and Socom sucked. I kind of got pissed at this, but I let it go and have dogged him up over it and call him the prime example of a Casual Shooter Gamer.

Great Point, this game takes patience and a learning curve to start out with. The reason why he quit is because he thought he could pick up the controller like COD and just run around shooting people, nope not happening. So the little Rage quitters out there who think COD is the best game out need to remember, I can pop your game in and get kills and maybe even be in the top 5 every round, you would get owned and quit on mine "Socom"
