Dropped bomb respawns after 30 secs..

question: Does the Bomb in Demolition reset it’s self when dropped and not picked up?

The last that we played was that it resets after 30 seconds of no one picking it up. Our understanding was that someone could die with it and it could fall someplace where you couldn’t reach it, so it’s a “preventative” design choice to make sure that it doesn’t get stuck somewhere bad.

This is NOT the best solution to the bomb getting dropped in "bad" spots. We learned this on Confrontation.

When I play Search & Destory on CoD (round based, 1 life, one team has a bomb to plant) the bomb stays where it gets dropped. I've never had the bomb get dropped in a bad spot on CoD. Even if I jump off a cliff with the bomb, it will simply drop on the cliff's edge, ready to get picked up.


All PS2 socoms had regular bomb drops. However, since the game's were poorly deisgned, people were able to easily glitch & drop the bomb inside inaccesable glitch spots. So instead of preventing glitch spots, they take the easy road & just respawn the bomb.


This was one of the biggest issues of Confrontation's breach & demo games modes. Imagine getting so close to the enemy's base, bomb drops & respawns, & now it's on the other side of the map. It's a game mode killer for many clans.

Why does SOCOM's dev's continue to produce very poorly designed games?

I was wondering this also last night. But it seemed not to reset at all. May be it was close to 30 seconds but I think it doesn't reset.
