Socom 4 at the Playstation Event in Canada

First of all, the event itself, wow, they really were not prepared for the amount of people that showed up. I'll have a full written report on GreatCanadianGamer.com later, but let me give you a short break down.
You walk in, look left, and this is what you see. The same is mirrored on the right side.
At the event there was:
2 - GT5 booths
2 or 3 - KillZone 3 booths
1 - Motorstorm PR in 3D
1 - SOCOM: Special Forces (I was surprised it wasn't SOCOM 4 branded) booths
2 - LBP2 booths
1 - Infamous 2 booth
Those are the big ones. There was also some more Move games on the first floor, and the entire second floor was 3rd-party games, nothing big.
Now, onto SOCOM cause I know thats what everyone here cares about. Wow, Playstation Canada...WOW. And that is not a good wow. I really wish Jeremy or Chris was there, because the way Playstation Canada was showcasing SOCOM 4, they would have had an aneurysm.
The game was being showcased with the Move controller, IN THE ZAPPER, and a dual-shock instead of the Navigation controller. There are 2 major issues with this. Because the controller was in the Zapper, we had no access to any of the face buttons, only the shoot button. And because we had to use the dual-shock for movement it was incredibly uncomfortable to balance in one hand and unlike the Nav controller, there was no access to the X and O buttons.
The result? Possibly the absolute worst way you could showcase the game. I played through the demo struggling with the controls, using my Zapper hand to occasionally press the circle button on the dual-shock hand so I could at least experience getting into cover.
Even through all that, I managed to have some fun. The first thing I noticed is that the game really does look more amazing in person. I'm really excited to see more areas purely for the fact that I want to see how the game looks in different environments. It's really impressive.
Apart from the horrible way the controls were showcased, it also managed to feel like a SOCOM game. It's really hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but you definitely get that SOCOM vibe from it. You can tell they really want this one to be polished. This pre-alpha demo could be untouched in the final game, and it would seem like a finished level.
I can field questions but understand I was barely able to get any time with it seeing as there was only the one booth, and obviously because of the setup my experience with the controls was horrible.
Oh, and the guy who was there helping showcase the game had absolutely no idea when it was coming out, stating "I'm not the right guy to ask that question". In other words, he didn't know anything about the game and really should not have been there at all.DavidDoel.com

David2Crazy stated that the controller and game setup was done by a guy who had no idea what Socom 4 was about and not to blame Zipper for the crappy set up and game display.
But my comment in response to this is basically Socom 4 has gone beyond Casual Gamer Mode if this Zapper gun can be used to Play Socom to begin with, and the display coordinator even considered using this toy gun to play Socom is a Shame to Socom.
