I think you can cheap USB mic for about 20 bucks. I still have my SOCOM 1 Mic and I think at Best Buy it may even be 9.99 for the same one, or close to it.

some of them don't work though, I have a usb mic and it works on the ps3 but not with any socoms.

Although it is rumored that number 4 will be abastard love child of halo and your original I will love and nuture you all the same as will the people who play you, I met my clan through your good servers when you rented yourself out like a cheap whore to slant six, so thank you. Maybe one day you will be cloned and return on ps3 as a number 2, thats not poo but a good version. I await that day and maybe my children will play you on some retro system one day.
