They only have to add the changes we requested and classic mode will be really close to old Socoms. Those changes are adding D-Pad lean, Moving the camera back and upward, making the bullet spray cone tighter while not using OTS, adding the grenade arch, Getting Demo and extract back, turning up strafing speeds, turning up overall game speed, adding a dead zone and acceleration control settings options, and a few others.

This is exactly the sort of feedback that we wanted to get from folks after being able to get their hands on the game, and I think this thread is a great example of why we wanted that to happen. When everything is said and done and we've been able to act on feedback like this (of which we obviously have plenty) then I really think that everyone will be happy with how it all turns out.

It has. Some of the things that people are mentioning are already in there (or are at least in progress and very close).

Roper: the question I have, which you may or may not be able to address, is this:

I know you've received a ton of feedback from those who have played - and they seem to be fairly consistent - do you expect to have the majority of this issues addressed before the game goes gold, or should we expect to see the fixes in a patch after launch, if at all?

The bolded is the real question..

I honestly don't know the answer to this. We're doing what we can to get stuff on the disc, though it needs to be sent off to manufacturing at some point. After that we'll begin working on updates where necessary.

At least they are trying ... I honestly wish they would go back to the graphics of Socom 2 and make 10 new maps. That game was so simplistic it had an awesome charm about it ...

I played Socom 2 last night and I appreciate the simple plan they had on some of the maps. But you forget this quick when you play the jungle maps, they were ahead of their time. Me and ditch played Sujo last night and there are core items in that game that if were transferred to the PS3, it would leave the shelves at Gamestop on fire. I know for a fact if Socom 2 HD was made it would out sell SOCOM 4 because it would be a new game on the PS3, not a remake of COD. Old would be new to everyone on the PS3.

No I hadn't, thx

Not sure what the answer is but a Socom game with a MAG feel doesn't excite me, hopefully with DLC and input from the community we can figure it out ...

I think Socom 2 HD is a very big topic and Zipper/Sony is aware of it. I don't know how they think it won't make money, I think it would out sell Socom 4 if it was side by side Socom 2 HD. Think about this, if you walked in Gamestop and both games were on the shelf and you had 60 bucks, which one would you buy, you know my answer.

Zipper has to feel confident that if they put in all the hours it takes to make a video game it would have to be a money maker and except for the die-hards who by the way our numbers have dwindled, I'm not sure the profit margin would fit the bill ... I think more realistic idea would be to do Socom 2 in HD as a down load game only at a cheaper price and then keep adding additional maps at a fair price (so it turns into a profitable game)...

Imagine the core game of Socom 2 with new maps twice a year, that could keep the community happy for years ... The biggest issue is they took away our core game and changed it to something unrecognizable.
