tired of the Socom Bashers

everywhere I go people are trash talking the bata ..

All I can say is that most of them are just way to stuck in the past ....
******* just open your mind to the potential!!

if you are so stuck on Socom 2 ... go ******* play socom 2 !!!

If you want Socom 2 Dont buy socom 4 !!!!

if you have an open mind to the potential community style of game play !!!
socom 4 will give it to you !!!! Just dont get in respawn !!!
the ******* game is what you make it .. and if you are just going to trash talk it
and keep a bad attitude about it then I dont want to play with ya anyway !!!

this has a lot of potential !!!!!!

I dunno man. I was extremely open to this game. But as I played it I have started to become more and more disappointed.

There are a ton of people that do point out problems this game has without actually referencing Socom 2 at all.

Things like
- Camera collisions, dead spots
- Cartoony graphics
- NO HIP FIRE

These things are legitimate concerns that do not actually reference Socom 2.

I don't look at this game as SOCOM anymore but as a fun 3rd person shooter that will hopefully bring my Clan back together. The misconception people have of ol school SOCOM fans like myself is, I want a SOCOM game, not just SOCOM 2, but SOCOM.

SOCOM is not defined as SOCOM 2, but all of them I miss greatly and SOCOM4 has zero SOCOM features in it.

Needs some tweaking IMO and the game may be OK. But it's not SOCOM.

I agree Paul. I want that Socom feeling too. Whether it comes from something new or Socom 2 HD doesn't matter to me. I want that clan experience, edge of my seat experience kinda game.

Was using socom 2 as a reference point I guess more then people claming that is what they want socom to be like .. the old socom ...

Honestly the group of people I got to play with last night was a good group and we had a lot of fun with the game ...

I have always played Socom for the Community value of it more then the objective part of it so in a sence I play different then most of you ..

camera view did not bug me ..
GFX didnt bug me ...
MIC on the d-pad didnt bug me ...

As most games we all play we all usually have to figure out a new controller config .. and as I seen in the bata you have the chance to change it as you did with confrontation ...

I made a personalized setting in confrontation for my scope zoom buttone to be L1 and L2 ...

I made my talk button on the D-pad in confrontation ...

there are so many tweaks you all have the opportunity to make and all the fuss is over the default controller setting ... WHY??

I set my mind to not just look at anything negative about this game but to look for the positive ... the only thing we got to play so far is Suppression ...
How many of you choose to play suppression on all the other socoms ...
probably not many of you ... most of you want to do the objectives ..
so yes socom is going to feel like COD or MAG because that is all you do in those game titles for the most part .. Plus in the bata you are not rolling with friends to make it competitive ..

this game here has potential !!! it does .. but the more everyone tells people it is crap .. the more people are just going to have a BLAAA feel about the game the rest of their life .. You make it what it is , is my point .. if you dont like it .. Quit ..
dont ruin it for everyone else ...

if you dont like COD .. would you buy it ..

so if the issues here are so so so so bad .. Quit .. Dont buy it ...
easy as that .. Let the others that can figure out how to use it and play it

In my eyes Haters are no better to the moral of the game then cheaters are ..

I don't think SOCOM 4 is going to cut it for me, the only way I can play it at this point is to treat it like a run of the mill 3rd person shooter. After re-playing and having some time to really get into the game vs being at Zipper, it is not SOCOM and this will not cure my SOCOM fix. Yes the game has aquired the MAG CORE not SOCOM.

I will be going more to the Confrontation Forums again and I will fight to have this game completed. All SOCOM Confrontation needs to be a great game is some TLC. Sony needs to step up and realize that a Jungle Map DLC for Confrontation at this moment would blow the roof off. Plus, a few more patches to include UCRR's,, nerf the spec weps and SOCOM 4 would be played as much as I play MAG.

SOCOM Confrontation has more core values than SOCOM 4 by far, and IMO the graphics are better. Some of you may need to reserve a used copy of SOCOM Confrontation because I think it will go up in price after the April 5th release date.

OK hate away, I know it's coming, but I speak my mind and I know SOCOM Con has more to offer as a SOCOM game than 4.

Hey Paul I gotta admit it will be a shame to see you go. I was looking forward to playing with you and Nameless but I respect that this game isn't for you. Confrontation's laggy menu's and interface plus its initial problems jaded me towards it. I mean I had fun times but I had more frustrating times I feel.

I was saddened by a few things that Socom 4 did. They really have seemed to turn a deaf ear to things that I thought they would listen to. Things that they personally told me they were working on and going to implement. Sometimes it seems like they will say or do anything.

I wanna play this game badly and it will all come down to the community. If there is a strong community, then ill be playing it a ton. Otherwise its mainly SP and then the odd time. Community is key for me.

I hear ya Paul, I feel the same. I'll still be playing S4 (i expect) with my clan but its just not Socom, and its the farthest thing possible from what we all wanted. I feel like all the elements it has from CoD and MAG, CoD and MAG did them better and they belong in those games -- not here.

Zipper, there is no Stone of Shame big enough for you.
