It means Sony will take Socom from it's original code "PS2" port it to the Playstation Network "PS3" and charge people to download it on your PS3.

Then the game can be played using your PS3 versus people having to go out and buy a PS2 again. Which I see a lot of happy people who don't own a PS2 anymore doing and play using their PS3's.

The big question is will the port be on the same servers that we currently play using the"PS2" or will the game be played on a PS3 server which will be great in my opinion.

Nothing concrete with any of this so far,, it's just a good rumor that seems to have been leaked by a source at Zipper.

If the rumor is confirmed, it could be great. Most of my old clan mates don't play S2 anymore for various reasons; a ported S2 could get a lot of them on again.

How cool it would be to see thousands of players on S2 again.
